Bruno De Conciliis Bio:
Innovative and charismatic, Bruno De Conciliis is one of the most respected winemakers is Campania. Working in the relatively unknown Cilento zone on the southern coast of Campania, Bruno makes a wide range of wines, from typical and accessible versions of Fiano and Aglianico to wild, philosophical experimentations in sparkling wine and traditional, “natural” techniques. A dynamic and engaging presence, Bruno is a tireless promoter, avid jazz lover, careful winemaker, and a natural host.
While in Italy, Jon spent time at the De Conciliis vineyard and has created a menu inspired by the dinner he enjoyed with the winemaker and his family.
Alberto Graci Bio:
Alberto Graci’s path to making wine is an unusual one. His grandfather made wine in Sicily, but not in Etna but rather the center of the island where the focus was less on quality but on quantity. When he passed on, Alberto abandoned his life as a banker in Milan, returned to his native Sicily to take up the business of making wine. His interest, however, was not in the mass produced wines of central Sicily. No, he sold his grandfathers land and started his winery on the high altitude vineyards on the active volcano of Mt. Etna. ”I’m a fatalist” he explains. Alberto now makes five wines from his three vineyard sites that range in elevation from 1800 to 3000 feet.
Please join us for an amazing evening showcasing southern Italian food and wine.
